On Saturday, September 17th, 2005 a final memorial service was held in Los Angeles for the late Matthew McGrory. This service was for those who knew Matthew in Los Angeles but were unable to attend the funeral in Pennsylvania; Matt’s home state.

The memorial included photos of Matt from childhood to now, singing, a video presentation set to some of Matt’s favorite songs, and several heartfelt speeches. We were all treated to a beautiful rendition of “Danny Boy.” And through the tears we were all able to laugh and share our stories of what united us. I think it brought everyone some comfort to know that even though he’s moved on, he’s still bringing us together and making us smile.

In attendance were close friends, Matthew’s girlfriend, and those who worked with him on all of his various films and projects. Matthew McGrory is survived by his girlfriend Melissa, his mother, brother, sisters, and all of his Irish brothers and sisters. We miss you Matty! We love you brother.
