Rejects Birthday Party at the Hollywood Collector’s Show in Burbank,
California - July 31st, 2005 The last weekend of July at the Burbank Airport Hilton marked the third of four annual Hollywood Collector’s Shows. The show, also referred to as the Ray Courts show, is not a horror con (it’s more of a classic TV and movie con) but it often has guests who are famous in for their work in the genre. This show had several guests from The Devil’s Rejects on hand. ¾ of Banjo and Sullivan, the fictional band who meets it’s fate at the hand of the Firefly clan, were on hand to meet the fans (the ¾ being Geoffrey Lewis, Priscilla Barnes and Kate Norby). Also on hand were new Mama Firefly Leslie Easterbrook and Ken Foree. By some strange coincidence, three of the Rejects people all had birthdays surrounding the show. An impromptu birthday party was held on Sunday for Geoffrey Lewis (whose birthday was that actual day), Kate Norby and Leslie Easterbrook. The three of them posed for pictures while holding some home made birthday cakes. They were serenaded with a typical off key version of Happy Birthday to You. Everyone seemed pretty amused by the whole affair. Geoffrey Lewis was also visited by, and received birthday wishes from, fellow alum (Kelli Maroney) of the cult film Night of The Comet.
