GINGERDEAD MAN
By Ken Leicht

Charlie Band extends his winning formula of possessed vengeful toys coming back to kill to baked goods. This time it’s a killer gingerbread cookie. While this premise would normally earn an instant dismissal, the presence of no less than Gary Busey as the title character commands my attention.

Gary Busey stars as a maniac (Duh!) who kills the father and brother of the film’s heroine during a robbery. Her testimony later sends him to the electric chair. Soon afterward, a mysterious Ginger spice is dropped off at the bakery she runs. When she goes to make a gingerbread cookie, it bakes up as an evil psycho cookie possessed by GUESS WHO. Mayhem ensues.

While not as funny or gory as the title and artwork would suggest, it’s amusing enough in the usual Full Moon Entertainment way. And it probably would have been better if Mr. Band didn’t show up to assure us that a GingerDead Man action figure was on the way.
I understand there’s an empire to run but come on. But at least he offered a class you can buy showing you how to make films like him…which is more than most of the higher tier guys do.
