DARK WATER
By Larra

Recently divorced, going through bitter custody battles and not to mention straining personal problems, who needs a ghost thrown into the mix?

This seriously seems like one of those Lifetime Original Movies….. Dahlia (Jennifer Connelly), is determined to pick up the pieces after a messy divorce and bitter custody battle so she moves herself and her young daughter into a run-down apartment where not only are the tenants who live above her obnoxiously loud but there seems to be something amiss with the pipes. Determined, Dahlia is going to make this work.

Aside from the obvious annoyances, there are certain psychological aspects seeming to arise. Ceci, Dahlia’s daughter, has begun seeing as well as talking to an ‘imaginary friend’ who doesn’t seem so imaginary when she leaves her book bag lying around. Could it be the stress from the divorce as well as the custody battle slowly chipping away at Dahlia’s sanity? Is she slowly losing her mind or is there something or someone sinister behind the strange occurrences plaguing poor Dahlia?

Along the lines of Rosemary’s baby, this is more of a psychological thriller than horror movie and although it does have some decent ‘jump-scares’ it just came off shallow.
