COLD BLOOD (2005)
By Larra

This one starts out with a “grand-slam” (to the forehead) and kind of winds-down from there…..

Poor J.M. (Barnes Walker III) walks in on his wife Andrea (Laurence Avenet-Bradley) cheating on him, so he does what any red-blooded man (in a movie) would do, he kills her. Too bad he just can’t bring himself to get rid of her body. First he keeps her on ice in the bathtub (literally with ice-cubes from the freezer), then he puts her in bed, then stuffs her into the trunk of his car and takes her on a road trip to his sisters old farm house, stopping for ice along the way of course.

Upon arrival at the farm house – which just so happens to be where he and his lovely wife Andrea were married - J.M. once again plays musical places and finally winds-up dropping Andrea’s body into an old deep-freezer he finds in the barn. All the while, J.M. is hallucinating and seeing his dead wife everywhere. But are these sightings really just a figment of his imagination? Is he going crazy? Does someone know his secret? Is there another killer on the loose?

Ok, so I remember seeing the artwork for this movie a long time ago and was extremely curious, so I kept it on my task-bar and checked in frequently until one day it just ‘POOF!’ disappeared.

Now I can see why……

For some reason this film seems like it was made over a weekend and was quite rushed.
Characters pop-up out of nowhere, everyone moves just a tad bit too hastily and the acting was either too much or just lacking (especially where there is an attempted “deep-moment”). I was impressed with the FX make-up and truly liked the concept/story but couldn’t keep myself from laughing and rolling my eyes. However, I would much rather sit through COLD BLOOD twenty times over than ever see the re-make of THE FOG again!

By the way, did I mention that there are 6 “Easter-Eggs” hidden on this disc? Have fun finding them all!
