| CINEMA WASTELAND
- OCTOBER 2005 TOGA! TOGA! er, I mean, MONKS! MONKS! Ah, Cinema Wasteland, the best show that comes not once but twice a year…..
This time it was the bad-asses from The Devil’s Rejects, a Dawn of the Dead reunion and a ‘redoing-of-the-vows’…… I think (fingers-crossed) that I can speak for everyone in attendance in saying that this was a great and memorable time; as vows and kisses were witnessed, burlap was worn, tuxedos were shown and great times were had. The dealer room was once again kickin’
with awesome vendors who were above and beyond friendly, heroes and
villains who were ever-so polite and gracious as well as just all-around
fantastic fans as well as friends who always make the weekend well worth
the flight from L.A. Highlights for me included: Stacey and Julie re-doing their wedding vows with Sid Haig as the ordained but “sinister” minister. -- “Awwwwwwww!!” Joe Knetter and his ‘Monks’ reciting stories from his latest book: “Twisted Loneliness”—if you missed this one, I feel very sorry for you! Multi-room parties, meeting new and interesting people and making new friends. I just want to thank Ken Kish and his fantastic crew for yet another “fan-fucking-tastic” show, and like I always say: “If you can only make it to one show, make it to Cinema Wasteland!!” You have two chances…….
Take one!
