Bruce "Ash"
Campbell
Well kids, here's the skinny on the Bruce Man. Way back in the day, or September
2002, is when I first met him. He was cocky and confident, and oh yes, he
smelled soooo... good. On tour for his first book, "If Chins Could Kill,
Confessions Of A B Movie Actor" he stumbled into my town. It began
as any other event, lame introduction, followed by loud clapping as "Ash"
made his way to the stage. After about an hour of verbal attacks and a Q&A
session with the audience, we were all forced back into the lobby to await
our change to meet the man. Or to go and watch the first Evil Dead movie,
which one do you think I chose?
After a decent wait, I got my chance and said something insanely witty and
was everafter loved by Bruce, ha! Believe that if you will. Do not be fooled,
Bruce is a sarcastic man, with a sometimes cruel sense of humour, you just
have to go with it when it comes to him, or run home and cry to mama. And
yes, there are pictures of this grand event, alas, they have been sucked
into the vortex of storage hell. (Moving cross-country in a Honda Civic will
do that)I promise to put them up once they are found.
*UPDATE: found those pics, and now they're up..woohoo*

And now for the second time around. I found myself at the Egyptian Theatre
in Hollywood for the premiere of a grand little film called
Bubba-Ho-Tep, visit the official
site to learn more. It's directed by the super groovy Don Coscarelli, of
Phantasm and Beastmaster fame, sweet booty shakin' you say! And you are correct.
There's not much to tell of the evening. I said a quick hello to Bruce and
Don before they were mobbed, and the so so hot Sam "Spiderman" Raimi was
there and praised the movie, before he had to run from a mob of uber excited
teens. I'll end in saying that I giggled uncontrollably the entire film and
Bruce was his usual cute, sarcastic, great smelling self.

The most recent incident was June of
2003, at the premiere of Hatred
Of A Minute, which Bruce produced. Again at the fantastic
Egyptian Theatre Directed
by Michigan native, Mike Kallio, with special cameos by Bruce himself, and
the legendary Gunnar
Hansen(Leatherface in the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre). Honestly,
I've seen better flicks in my day. But it was a good idea. And the director
Mike is a very nice man, who says he's planning on making the big move to
L.A. soon. Bruce was at his best all night, and was also very nice to me
for our third, yet very brief, meeting. I apologize for not taking any photos.
Also there was director Scott Spiegel, awesome! (From Dusk Till Dawn 2, Intruder,
etc...)
That's all my Bruce stories for now, but do check back, he's always up to
something, and I always end up being there, go me. Visit him at his official
site for up to date info:
