| BOO
The title speaks for itself in this first from writer/director Anthony C. Ferrante. Full of good old fashioned jumps and scares, Boo is original in the fact that the main character isn’t an actor, but the building itself! After a fire on the 3rd floor, a hospital’s renovation was thwarted by mysterious accidents which stopped any further work, thus, leaving the dilapidated building abandoned. But its memories remained, and along with these memories are the ghosts who harbor feelings of anger, innocence and pain. Planning to scare their girlfriends for kicks on Halloween, a group of college kids visits the local abandoned hospital rumored to be haunted. Unbeknownst to them, the rumors are true. Filmed in an actual vacant hospital, Boo takes you on a topsy-turvy ride full of those good old-fashioned “gotcha” scares and throws in just enough humor to keep you interested. As well as a good twist with the characters, Boo does a great job keeping you wondering what the hell is going to happen next. In the true sense of the late-night or drive-in movie, Boo is worth the time (as well as the pesos) not just for the hot chicks and blood, but definitely for giving us something other than a damn re-make!
